Pre-Send Checklist for Email Campaigns

Before launching an email campaign on the Gersuz Email Marketing Platform, it’s essential to ensure that your sending setup, domain configuration, contact lists, and system preferences are properly prepared. Following this checklist will help you maximize deliverability, avoid spam issues, and protect your sender reputation.

1.Configure a High-Quality SMTP Relay Account

Gersuz does not send emails from its own servers. Instead, all campaigns are delivered using the SMTP relay or dedicated mail server configured by each client.

Recommended SMTP Options

  • Dedicated SMTP server
  • Business-grade SMTP relay providers
  • SMGP or similar enterprise-level accounts

Choosing a reliable SMTP provider is crucial, as your sending limits, reputation, speed, and inbox placement depend directly on the SMTP service you integrate.

Set Accurate Sending Limits

Before sending your first campaign:

  • Define hourly and daily SMTP limits
  • Make sure limits comply with your SMTP provider’s policies, rate restrictions, and anti-abuse rules

Avoid exceeding thresholds to prevent:

  • Throttling
  • Account suspension
  • IP/domain blacklisting

 

2. Verify All Required DNS Records

Accurate DNS configuration is recognized as one of the most fundamental and powerful prerequisites for maximizing email deliverability to the recipient's inbox.

Essential DNS Records

To avoid spam filters, ensure these records are correctly set:

  • SPF
  • DKIM
  • DMARC

Correct DNS authentication allows:

  1. Higher inbox placement
  2. Reduced spam flagging
  3. Accurate bounce and complaint reporting

⚠️ The Gersuz Anti-Spam System relies on these DNS records. If they are missing or incorrectly configured, the anti-spam protections cannot function properly.

 

3. Enable Delivery Status Notifications (DSN)

Configuring Delivery Status Notification (DSN) is mandatory to allow the Gersuz platform to:

  • Receive bounce reports
  • Track delivery events
  • Provide accurate campaign analytics

Without DSN activation, the platform cannot generate reliable performance reports or maintain your sender reputation score.

 

4. Validate and Clean Your Contact Lists

Step 1 - Initial Validation

After uploading contacts:

  • Identify invalid, inactive, and non-existent email addresses
  • Ensure domain-level validation is performed

Step 2 - Remove Duplicate Emails

Duplicate or repeated email addresses can:

  • Waste your sending capacity
  • Increase bounce rates
  • Damage your sender score
  • Lead to unnecessary spam complaints

5. Customize the Unsubscribe Link

To improve compliance and user experience:

 

  • Choose a clear and appropriate language for the unsubscribe message
  • Optionally replace the default text with a customized, brand-consistent message

A clear unsubscribe option reduces:

  • Spam complaints
  • Negative engagement
  • Deliverability issues

 

6.Complete Your Sender Profile

Before sending your first campaign:

  • Upload a professional logo or profile image
  • Fill out all profile details (company name, address, website, etc.)
  • Ensure sender identity matches your brand

A complete profile increases:

  • User trust
  • Open rates
  • Engagement quality

 

7. Select the Correct Time Zone

Setting the correct time zone allows the Gersuz system to:

  • Schedule campaigns accurately
  • Deliver emails at optimal local times
  • Align reports with your actual region
  • Improve communication with your subscribers

 

8. Avoid Repeated Emails to Non-Subscribers

Repeated sending to users who did Not Subscribe or who have already Unsubscribed can severely Harm Your Reputation.

Consequences include:

  • Increased spam reports
  • Higher domain/IP spam score
  • Risk of blacklisting
  • Potential suspension by Gersuz

⚠️ Important Note:  The Gersuz Platform Allows Recipients to Report Senders directly to Gersuz if they continue receiving emails after unsubscribing multiple times. If a sender exceeds the acceptable complaint threshold, their Account May be Suspended based on Gersuz compliance policies.


 

9. Review the Guides for Each Tool Before Using Them

Before using any feature inside Gersuz:

  • Read the related tool guide
  • Understand recommended workflows
  • Review any warnings or operational notes

Being familiar with the system ensures:

  • Faster setup
  • Fewer technical issues
  • Higher deliverability
  • Better campaign performance

 

10. Importance of Using SSL (SSL Certificate)

Before Sending Email Campaign, make sure that your domain is secured with a Valid SSL Certificate. SSL is essential not only for data protection but also for improving email deliverability.

Why SSL Matters:

  • Ensures encrypted and secure data transfer: Subscription forms, preference pages, and landing pages must load over HTTPS to protect user data.
  • Boosts domain credibility: Email providers (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) treat non-SSL domains as unsafe, which can negatively impact your Inbox Placement Rate.
  • Supports authentication: When combined with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, SSL strengthens your domain reputation and reduces the chances of landing in spam folders.
  • Prevents browser security warnings: If your landing pages or unsubscribe pages are not protected with SSL, users will see security alerts and may immediately leave.
